The Mall

Taking the children to the mall....I don't know what I was thinking. I went into Macy's...(whom I had a boatload of problems with over a gift card)...and my eldest starts by behaving very well, then 20 minutes later she thinks she can start hiding from me in the store...then she wants to start beating on her little sister (who thinks that it's funny)...so my eldest gets mad because the little one thinks it's funny, so she starts to scream at her saying, "IT'S NOT FUNNY!". At this point my face looks like a tomato and i kneel down to her level and start to warn her about what's going to happen when we get to the car...so she starts to scream and cry because she doesn't want to be disciplined. Then she's upset because I won't let her leave my side....at this point I'm sure that she can see the anger and the frustration in my face...then it happens...She looks up at me and with her tearful puppy eyes she says, "Mommy, pick me up please".

I'm thinking, "Why is she acting this way?" Finally we pay and get out of the store and when we get to the car I remember...she got her flu shot earlier today. How could I forget? I'm such a bad mommy. Then I gave her some chocolate and she fell asleep on the ride home.

Oh don't feel bad. It happens a lot. My kids drive me crazy every time I take them to the mall. They have this habit of hiding inside the racks of clothes and chasing each other. I get so scared because my eldest tries to wander away and his sister follows him that I end up getting stressed and hissing quietly at him to behave or else. Sigh! It's hard sometimes, isn't it?

By the way, i've tagged you and Leo. :D

Sigh! Why does motherhood and guilt come inevitably and perpetually intertwined?

Thank goodness...there's chocolate as the almost always perfect solution! ;p

Enjoying your blog. =)

Leo- I know...

Menchie- It is indeed hard sometimes, but it's all worth it at the end. It is the scariest thing when they wander off.

Irene- You are absolutely right...CHOCOLATE...works every time.
By the way thanks for visiting. I'm glad your enjoying my blog. :-)
