This morning while I was at work I was remembering something that happened while we were at the mall. When we went into the store, the first place I stopped at to look was purses and wallets and more purses. Well, when my eldest sees me pick up different purses and wallets and saying how nice I thought they were...she starts doing the same thing. Finally she picks up a wallet, and she asks me,
"This is pretty, right mommy?".
I say, "Sure honey, that's gorgeous."
So she looks up at me, with this confident look on her face, and she says, "Well I'm gonna buy it."($54)
I say, "But you don't have money to buy that ."
"Mom, I do have money." (A dollar and some change)
I said, "You don't have enough for it."
So she gets this somewhat sad look on her face as she tells me, "But I do have money and I want to buy it for YOU mommy."
It was such a touching moment...I wanted to cry. My baby wanted to buy me something with the little money that she had...she didn't care how much it cost, she was sure she was going to get that wallet for me.

Awww...she is so sweet. Don't you sometimes wish you could protect them forever in a bubble where nothing bad can happen and they will always be happy?
What a lovely story.
She is adorable. I can confirm that!
Menchie- I truly wish that I could keep her in a bubble her whole life so that nothing and nobody could ever hurt her...things like this make me wonder how people can possibly abuse children...
Marie- thank you...
Leo- U should know...she gives you the puppy eyes a lot because she knows she can melt you and get what she wants. :-)
Oh - she sounds so like Poppy!I love that they still think that everything is possible. I am for the bubble ... can someone invent one? I want my baby to be safe forever.

Maysha,
I got a copy last weekend of "A Child called It". I've skimmed through the whole book already (a bad habit of mine which disgusts my husband and siblings) and it is so heartbreaking. I don't think I can stand to read the full details. How a mother could treat her own child like that is beyond my comprehension.
Caroline- maybe we should get together and see what we can come up with for that bubble.
Menchie- that book has got to be the most disturbing and moving book that I have ever read...what she did to her son was very harsh and inhumane. I remember finishing the book and wanting to look for his mother...just so i could give her a good beating for myself. That's how much it upset me. Let me know if you read it or if you're not going to read it...that way I can share with you the part that struck me the most as a mother...
